Copyright © Mike Valentine –   Ancient Pine Tree Branches Tangled (edited in TangledFX App on iPhone) I can’t seem to quit photographing upward as I stand under old trees with intertwining limbs and twisted branches – particularly when they have little in the way of visible leaves, or in this case, pine needles. Then because the light above is very contrasty compared to the shady underside of most trees, the photos need a bit of editing to show all the available detail. Here, the sharp edged limbs all appeared to blend together in a straight photo, so I used TangledFX to put back the sharp edges of the many thousands of branches and twigs overhead.
